Investments in the United Arab Emirates

One of the main achievements of the tour was the announcement of investments of $1.4 trillion, particularly in the defense, energy and artificial intelligence sectors. He highlighted the agreement with the United Arab Emirates, which envisages massive investment in AI technology development in the United States over the next decade.

Trump was honored with the UNESCO-recognized traditional Al-Ayyala dance and awarded the Sheikh Zayed Medal, the country ‘s highest civilian distinction.

A turn in the relationship with Syria and Iran

The tour also brought important geopolitical implications. In Saudi Arabia, Trump held an unprecedented meeting with Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa. After this meeting he announced the lifting of all sanctions imposed on Syria. In addition, he urged Damascus to normalize relations with Israel.

At the same time, progress in nuclear talks with Iran was reported. However, Israel didn’t participation. This generated tensions with the government of Benjamin Netanyahu and showed a progressive distance between both traditional allies.

Israel, an ally with frictions

Although Trump publicly reaffirmed his support for Israel, the facts point to growing marginalization. The country was excluded from key negotiations, such as talks with Houthi rebels in Yemen and talks with Hamas. This resulted in the release of an American hostage.

One of the most controversial proposals was the so-called « Trump plan for Gaza, ». It proposes to transform the Strip into an economic development zone under US tutelage. The plan would include the temporary relocation of thousands of Palestinians to countries such as Egypt and Jordan, a proposal that has generated strong criticism for its viability and humanitarian implications.
